Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training

Welcome

Under the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training, all students are expected to complete four years of O-Level Secondary Education course. Upon completion, students have to sit for the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) which aims at measuring the attainment of skills and knowledge of candidates throughout the course. English is one of the subjects which is taught and examined at the end of the course. English language and literature in English give students enough time to practice the language in the aspect of speaking, writing, reading and listening to various oral and written English contents. This eventually helps them to improve the language skills. Good mastery of English language also gives candidates a clear understanding on other subjects which are also being taught in English. Therefore, students should be encouraged to read widely to enable them to use correct English grammar and spellings. They should also be encouraged to read books like Novels, Plays and Poetry that are included in the reading programme to enable them answer questions related to the reading programme correctly.
